Democratic candidate Joe Biden has been stuck in his basement all these months and now wants us all to be mandated by law to wear masks. That’s his big idea. According to CBS News: “Every single American should be wearing a mask when they’re outside for the next three months, at a minimum. Every governor should mandate mandatory mask-wearing,” Biden said, suggesting that widespread mask use could save 40,000 lives over the next three months. “Let’s institute a mask mandate nationwide starting immediately, and we will save lives.” Where ya been, Joe?

Although you wouldn’t guess it from the insanity that continues around the Western world when it comes to the Wuhan virus, we have a pretty good handle on the thing. Nevertheless, the World Health Organization seems determined to make a bad situation worse. It’s now telling people to stop going to the dentist. With the Wuhan virus plaguing the world for almost eight months, things are getting better, especially here in America. We know that the elderly and people with co-morbidities are vulnerable and need to be protected. We’re getting more anecdotal evidence that, if given early enough, a drug combo

President Trump has given the Democrats a surprise thrashing, hoisting them on their own petard over stimulus payments in what must be the legislative jiujitsu of the year. According to Fox News’s Liz Peek: Furious that Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer were blocking a bill to help Americans through the COVID-19 crisis, President Trump stepped up

As a former Army officer, I was sickened by reports that Russia was paying bounties for killing American soldiers fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan. In the face of credible intelligence that Russia remains determined to spread division and misinformation as U.S. elections near, the United States is justified in taking punitive action. The challenge in formulating a meaningful response is avoiding unintended consequences. However wide the chasm between our perceived interests, the two countries are tied together economically and geo-strategically. We cannot allow our just outrage to drive policy that unintentionally hobbles the U.S.

Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan as his running mate. According to the Detroit News: Lansing — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer traveled to Delaware last weekend to meet with Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s first known in-person session with a potential running mate as he nears a decision, according to the Associated Press.

According to the Washington Post, on May 31, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture’s “Talking about Race” portal published a graphic of “Some Aspects and Assumptions of White Culture in the United States.” As reported by Thomas DiLorenzo, it characterized “most U.S. white people most of the time” as including “self-reliance, independence, merit, competitiveness, belief in equality under the law, protection of property rights, ability to speak and write plain English, avoidance of conflict, politeness, Christianity, the Judeo-Christian tradition, the work ethic, associating ‘pay’ with work, the scientific method, respect for authority, planning for the future

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been hailed in the press as the nation’s top infectious disease expert. He’s been feted with presidential honors, and high praise for his medical acumen. His policy disagreements with President Trump, supposedly as the voice of ‘science,’ have made him a hero on the left. Such laurels and the implied power conveyed have led to some weird side effects – such as his image featured on ladies’ underwear and declarations that he’s the sexiest man alive. He’s still being posterized on the left with calls to “Thank Dr. Fauci.” Here’s one: But it’s about time this idol topples, based on this summary about Fauci’s startlingly bad medicine

Logic escapes them. Or rather, for New York’s teachers unions, protesting school openings isn’t really about the dangers of COVID. In the tweedledum-tweedledee politics of New York’s Mayor Bill de Blasio and New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo, de Blasio is playing the one with a brain this time, creating a plan for opening New York City’s schools, which has the opposition of Cuomo and the teachers unions themselves, carrying guillotines and coffins around to persuade us that school openings are death sentences. Never mind that New Yorkers have been so exposed to this virus through the subway that they’ve

We’re getting an awful lot of very bad advice from public officials about how to handle the resurgent coronavirus pandemic. All of a sudden, we’re told, we must lock down the economy again, for our own good. Common sense and experience, it seems, have flown the coop. Just look at Sweden, which avoided a lockdown and slashed its daily COVID-19 death rate.
Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari is the latest to create a stir by saying he favored a “really hard” four-to-six week lockdown of the economy to get the virus under control and help the economy rebound

While Americans across the country continue to work despite the many hardships of COVID-19, teachers’ unions want none of it. They want to keep schools closed, which will benefit their own members greatly but seriously harm school-age kids.
The Twitter hashtag “edupocalypse” has seen some use in recent weeks and months as our nation’s schools closed down and all but stopped teaching. It’s leading to what we think can be called, without exaggeration, an educational crisis. Public schools may never be the same.
You can blame it on the shameful display of self interest by a powerful, politically-connected lobby that
