The death of a 68-year-old man found injured outside a 118 Avenue bus shelter has been confirmed as a homicide.
Edmonton police said pedestrians found an injured man in his 60s at a bus shelter near 118 Avenue and 42 Street at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday and called 911. The man was treated by EMS and taken to hospital where he died from his injuries, a news release said Saturday evening.
A following police investigation found a fight between the man and another person took place shortly before he died.
An autopsy confirmed Russell William Storoschuk, 68, died from blunt force trauma and his manner of death is homicide.
Police are continuing to investigate and ask any witnesses to contact them. Investigators are also interested in dash cam footage from cars that were parked or drove by the area between 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
