Some students and teachers using the University of Alberta’s eClass program experienced issues on the first day of class as the school experienced technical issues.

The program began experiencing issues around 10:10 a.m. Tuesday. In an announcement posted online, the school said users reported “severe performance degradations” and error messages. The update provided instructions to teachers on how to directly email students links to a replacement Zoom class.

In a tweet issued around 1 p.m., the school said it had resolved the issue and classes were being restored.

The final update on the day said eClass would be down down from 12 a.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.
