RCMP major crimes unit investigating homicide at Paul Band First Nation

Alberta RCMP’s major crimes unit is investigating a homicide at the Paul Band First Nation.

Parkland RCMP officers responded to a request from EMS for help with an unresponsive man at 9:28 a.m. on Aug. 28. When officers arrived on scene, the 53-year-old man was declared dead. He was outside a home.

An autopsy conducted on Sept. 1 confirmed the man’s death was a homicide and the major crimes unit was deployed to take over the investigation.

Police did not release a name for the victim or say what the cause of death was.

Paul Band First Nation is approximately 67 kilometres west of Edmonton.
