Police release sketch, video in hopes of finding suspect in south Edmonton homicide

City police have released photos, a sketch and a video of a suspect in a slaying at a south Edmonton motel in May.

Police responded to a call at the Royal Lodge motel near 38 Avenue and Gateway Boulevard. on May 24. When officers arrived they found the body of 48-year-old Lisa Arsenault. An autopsy on May 29 confirmed her death was a homicide. Police have not released a cause of death.

Edmonton police released surveillance photos on June 11 of a man seen walking outside the motel. In a further attempt to identify the man, police released a composite sketch Wednesday as well as a surveillance video of him leaving a room at the motel. Police have also released photos of a silver Dodge Magnum the man may have been driving at the time of Arsenault’s death.

The suspect appears to be a white man wearing glasses and a beige hat. He was wearing a brown vest over top of a t-shirt with dark pants and a sneaker.

Arsenault’s family previously told Postmedia they had told police back in February they were worried about her well-being while she stayed at the motel. The police would not give the family any information, she said.
