One person is in hospital in “serious condition” following a shooting in northwest Edmonton.

Speaking at the scene, Edmonton Police Service supervisor Sgt. Ken Smith confirmed there is at least one victim after a shooting occurred shortly after six p.m. near Castle Downs Road and 152 Avenue. He said he was unsure if the injuries were life-threatening.

At least seven police vehicles, including one unmarked, and one EMS truck were at the scene just after 7 p.m.

Police tape surrounded a handful of vehicles behind an ACE liquor where the majority of emergency responders were located. A silver car had at least three bullet holes in it and it’s trunk was open.

Smith said two vehicles were damaged.
