The long-awaited $14.3-million winning Oilers 50/50 raffle ticket will be drawn Wednesday afternoon.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation said in a tweet Tuesday the world-record-setting Aug. 7 ticket, sold during Game 4 against the Chicago Blackhawks, would be drawn at 4 p.m. at the Oilers Entertainment Group headquarters.
The winning number will be posted on the foundation’s Twitter account @Oil_Foundation, as well as on the Oilers’ raffle website.
The ticket delay came as the company faced a backlog after technical glitches led to thousands of people being overcharged. Around 12,800 of the 297,000 purchases have been voided.
The jackpot will be about $1 million less after the refunds are processed.
More than $7 million of the draw will go to support charities.
