No date for the long-awaited $14.3-million Oilers 50/50 raffle draw has been set after the original date was scrapped Wednesday to allow for more refunds to be processed.
The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation said in tweet Thursday the technology provider was still processing void requests and issuing ticket refunds.
“We continue to make progress on voiding and refunding final requests from customers who initiated the requisite refund process,” the foundation stated.
“We will provide an update on the timeline for the draw once Ascend Fundraising Solutions completes this process. Thank you once again for your patience.”
The delayed draw came as the organization faced a backlog of refunds after technical glitches led to some buyers being charged multiple times for raffle tickets sold Aug. 7 during Game 4 between the Edmonton Oilers and the Chicago Blackhawks.
The foundation previously voided about 12,800 of 297,000 purchases. Buyers had until noon Aug. 13 to apply for refunds by forwarding duplicate confirmations to [email protected]
