Admiration for George W. Bush doesn’t win you much praise in today’s Republican Party, but I don’t care. On Thursday former President George W. Bush attended and delivered a speech at the late Congressman John Lewis’s funeral. George W. Bush had every reason not to attend Lewis’s funeral, let alone eulogize him. Lewis may have been a famed civil rights leader, but he was also a bitter partisan Democrat congressman, who boycotted both of Bush’s inaugurations. Bush barely mentioned the political division between him and Lewis. “John and I had our disagreements of course,” Bush said.
I thought I was the only person who felt the same about John Lewis, his work as a civil rights activist was commendable while his time as a Congressman was reprehensible, Purely partisan to the core, so much so he was blinded by it. As far as GWB, I still can’t believe how badly I was fooled that he was different than the rest. I too thought the man displayed a lot of class in difficult times but all that good will is gone after seeing how chummy he was/is with the Clintons. How can anyone sit there with either Bill or Hillary and smile? Knowing that Hillary would cook and eat the Bush daughters if it gave her the power she craves?

Oh, who cares?

George must not have had a golf partner on Thursday.

George W. Bush Has More Class Than the Entire Democratic Party That’s not saying much.

One display of class does not a classy person make. A nice guy whos mean to the waiter is not a nice guy.

If I remember correctly, it was John Lewis and his partner in crime Cummings that said the Tea Party people during our protests (Obama administration) spit on them and called them racial names. I have no use for that liar. No one at that protest did anything of the sort.

I’m good. Thanks.

Yet, he and his father befriended Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton, a man who was with Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and two young girls. Oh yes, “George W. Bush Has More Class Than the Entire Democratic Party” is the title of this article but does George W. Bush have more class because he wasn’t with Jeffrey Epstein? I tire of George W. Bush easily especially when I know there were a lot of soldiers who died and W sold out on with his jealousy with President Donald Trump. I find Democrats to be disgusting.

some of you people are mad at everybody. That’s not healthy.

John Lewis in the end was a bitter racist hustling charlatan. Like so many before him, Lewis became what he fought against, not only a Democrat like Wallace but venal and partisan beyond reason. His legacy could have been so much richer had he retired 20 years ago. As an aside, the same has been said about Woody Hayes. I have to agree with the author about one thing, George W Bush is a nice man, a very nice man. It’s a shame his priorities were so mis-aligned with his values. In his desire to be liked, he let the country down by capitulating and not standing strong against the Democrat machine.

Exactly #4. I saw how much “class” the Democrats had during the Barr “testimony”. Another thing about John Lewis though, he was full in with abortion. Not acceptable with me!

This is just Bush being Bush, the same guy who gave us John Roberts.

A low bar to hurdle.

They take kindness for weakness. He should have stayed away.

This past presidents and associated luminaries attending televised funerals and speechifying has become standard posturing (often with the once -sort of-Christian National Cathedral providing cover). George Bush, per Mama Bear Bush’s instructions from the grave (perhaps she too left a letter), always shows up at the right events. John Lewis was someone in the 60’s who also showed up at the right time and place and was able to trade on that cameo appearance for a political career of fierce face-making and partisanship. The Bush family are relentless in getting in front of the camera, and, of course, trying to stick it to President Trump, however obliquely. Babies, all of them, with their big baby funeral hooplaha. And, Obama, of course, probably thinks he will never die, and never be held accountable for his on-going grift. Obama plans to attend his own funeral and spread some pain around.

Never trust a Bush ever again
Stuff it Georgie!

“Bitter” sums up John Lewis. I was looking for the word to describe him and that’s IT. Don’t remember seeing him smile all these years.

Many of us supported and defended President Bush throughout his eight years, even as we became increasingly uncomfortable with Dad Bush becoming so chummy with the Clintons. It never made sense. And it doesn’t make sense that GW carries on with that “brother from another mother” flapdoodle. If Jeb! had been the Republican candidate contender against Hillary! would the Dem political machine have been so gracious to him v Hillary! ? Not a chance!!! The Dem furies from hell would have been launched against Jebbito. I would have more respect for GW –AND his wife– had they shown even a scintilla of magnanimity toward Donald Trump once he had won the Presidency (forget the Primary, but the Bush family could have been at least as congratulatory to DJT as they have been chummy with real political adversaries –for that is how Dems really see Republicans… these moderates, you know, “useful idiots”). It might have been nice if Mrs. Bush (oh, tut tut), if she had reached out to Melania when she had become a target of so much vituperation and meanness. Both Bushes proved to be petty and grudging, especially when the country they claim to care so much about would have benefitted from their vocal rejection of Never-Trumperism. If they love our country, they will work to defeat anti-Americanism determined to shred our Constitution. Democrats never showed GW any respect. They treated him the way they treat all Republicans (except the useful ones) with ridicule and insults.
Alas, the Bushes have shrunk small enough to fit in Dem pockets.

Bush is a One Worlder. Bush is always kissing up to Obola and sharing linty hard candies at church with Mitch. Bush calls the sexual predator slick Willy his “brother from another mother”. Bush never said a word when Obola blamed him for everything saying a former president should never criticize a sitting president. Yet he publically criticized President Trump. Bush is a seditious traitor, just like his old man. I’m sure I’ll hear it from posters about poppy’s service to his country. Blah blah blah…. so that gives him the right to all the skulldugery he can do once he’s back from the war? Oh, he served his country in public office all his life many will claim. Ya, and he made a LOT of money doing it. Same story as dem lifers at the public trough. Just cuz mommy wore pearls doesn’t make him classy.

On the contrary poster 9. Merely pointing out cold hard facts.

Well that so called “class” act by G.W. Bush certainly doesn’t extend to President Trump or his supporters!

Lewis was the original Jussie Smottett. He falsely accused people like me of being racists for political gain. There is no “class” in being a tool of propaganda for anti-American Marxists.

Rhetorical wuestion:
Why did John Lewis (and BTW George Floyd) get a week of memorial services and a full blown funeral but we peons can’t even have a normal service for our mothers?
Socialism – some animals are more equal than other animals.
BTW 2 – how did all of the “dignitaries” get to the funeral? Horse drawn wagons? I hope those “Green New Deal” advocates didn’t use “fossil fuels” . How much fuel was used to move that casket around? Just asking for a climate change denier friend.

Think John Lewis ever echoed, “Stay out da Bushes”! ?

President George W. Bush sometimes exercised poor judgement while in office. He has done so again here. Honoring men who lied about their political opponents, defamed you, and damaged their country is neither necessary nor principled. There is a difference between nice and naive. Bush never understood that.

#25 said it in a nicer way than I would. Bush Jr. let the Democrats trample him, and by association his supporters. He never defended his own Party, let alone himself. He may have thought it made him look better than them but it came off as weak and hapless. He handles 9/11 as well as any President could but after that he sank to nothingness.

Don’t much care who was at this political event. I didn’t watch any of it. John Lewis was an anti-American POS. Just like so many in Washington. Funny thing is, Lewis was marching for rights that he already had, but the the people in HIS party didn’t want him or any other black person to realize it. So once in Washington, he spent the rest of his life ranting against the party that freed the slaves.

Until the 2016 election, I would have agreed that the Bush clan was a classy group. Now I’m willing to say they’re classy when it suits them. They showed a different side when Trump won their toy (the Presidency) from their golden-boy Jeb. Their actions demonstrated that they considered the Presidency their entitlement. Anyone can be classy in victory. It is how you behave in defeat that tells the tale.

Having more class than those around you is great if we are talking about a Masterpiece Episode of a British drama, but in this real world and in this country with how the Left/Dem Party “behaves,” forget it. It shows weakness and nothing is gained by being a class act. John Lewis was a nasty man for the last 30 years or so of his life. And anyone dumb enough to be a Democratic politicians , the party that oppressed your ancestors, well, maybe some of your brothers and sisters shouldn’t have the right to vote.

John Lewis was the epitome of the evil he protested 50 some years ago, a died in the wool racist. So many bLACKS that rail against racism are in fact, the biggest racists. John Lewis, like Cummings, Waters, Jackson-Lee and others, found it as a way to enrich themselves.

George and Laura live not far from my place. I no longer visit nor support his library – which I pass on my way to work – not his foundation, nice as they are. I also don’t care much for his opinions which he rarely vices. However, I greatly admire his demeanor in his post White House life. He displays far more manners and good will than any other former president. Around here, he leads a quiet but busy life without fanfare; does a great of work for gets that rarely gets press. Unlike the Barry-O’s, he doesn’t insert himself where he doesn’t belong; he probably figures he has nothing to prove and he is content with his contribution, and self assured enough that he can eulogize an enemy. In my book, you give credit where due.

Bush II always reminds me of the story of the gentleman boxer who always faces and loses to opponents that cheat and win at any cost. You despise the lowdown cheating boxer, but after a while you despise the gentleman too because he is such a loser when he shouldn’t be. Bush II would definitely fit the role of the gentleman boxer. John Lewis would fit the role of the no holds bared win at all cost opponent. Once again Bush II is playing the role of the gentleman. Which Democrat will step up to the other role and lowblow him? Wait for it. Its coming.

I’m surprised they even let Bush in.

Was Mitt at the funeral? Anyone know?

I haven’t heard Bush say anything about Lloyd Marcus or Herman Cain. Too busy sitting beside his brother, Bill Clinton, and long time friend, Obama, passing out candy to Mooch. Bush has chosen his company, where he goes, and what he says, and it all is to his discredit.

The Bush’s sure are cozy with the dims these days.

I wish Bush could put aside his personal problems with Trump and support him. Doesn’t he care about the future of the country? Ted Cruz and others have put aside personal issues and gotten on the TrumpTrain. Why can’t Bush?

Typical Bush. Stockholm Syndrome’d by the Left, though they ragdolled him with impunity and no punchback. And now he praises the unpraiseable. Dubya the Globalist has always been Dumbya

Bush has always taken seriously his role as president and not just party leader. We can be partisans. But being POTUS is unique. When a president’s major political critics and foes die, he can decline to go to their funerals, but the message is political. Or he can be a statesman and attend. Statesmanship is not always well understood or appreciated at the time, but over decades is the one endearing memory that remains. Bush’s selfless actions confirm his unspoken belief that he was president of all the people. Few other who seek the office will ever be big enough to show such class.

Does anyone really think George Bush is a republican anymore?

I watched George Bush eulogy and it was a class act. Next, I watched Bill Clinton’s eulogy and he was all over the place, so to speak. I did not see Obama’s speech because I took my wife to a hospital appointment, but from the clips and the comments, it seems that it was nothing more than a campaign speech for the democrats.

Sorry, it is foolish to participate with dangerous enemies. Would it be “classy” for Bush to give a eulogy for Saddam Hussein? I know it’s an extreme case but Bush fails to recognize the perfidy of those on the Left. They have lead the Country to the brink of Civil War with rioting, insane behavior, and campaigns against the core structure of America. Lewis was a integral part of that. His spoken intentions were often about righting real wrongs that HAVE BEEN addressed or will be eventually. But his actions were harmful to the Country and his own race. Eulogizing that is legitimizing it and that is JUST PLAIN WRONG and damaging to the Country and Blacks. Bush hates Trump so much that he doesn’t care. That diminishes Bush and doesn’t make him “classy” or anything else that is positive. Bush could have simply attended the funeral and declined to speak. He is no better than Mary Trump with her nasty, bitter, and fraudulent book.

bush, the younger, is an incompetent and is led around by the puppeteers who are paid to keep him out of a duplicitous situation. he was among his cohorts in the presidential line, not because he deserved it.

No, the Bush family doesn’t have class. They do however hide their condescending loathing of the average citizens better than the rest of the party, simply because they have had the CIA training and a long term globalist mindset to do so. Lewis did a good thing back then in the Civil Rights fight. But he jumped the shark as soon as he got to congress.
