A 28-year-old man has died after the fuel truck he was driving blew a tire and rolled into a ditch near Thorhild County, according to Alberta Mounties.
In a Friday news release, police said RCMP received a call about a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 63 near Township Road 622 in the county, which is more than 100 kilometres north of Edmonton.
Police said officers believe the northbound truck blew a tire on the highway, which caused the driver to lose control and rollover before coming to a rest in the west ditch. The driver, from Boyle, was the only person in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident.
