A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Friday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured 8.2 C with 2 km/h winds out of the west, southwest.
Will this be the last day we see temperatures like this?
Forecasters are calling for a high of 24 C today under sunny skies but I can’t help but be cynical and wonder, as August winds down, is this the last of summer? The rest of the weekly forecast looks quite cool and with each passing morning I find myself reaching for a larger, warmer, greyer sweater.
Sure, September can be a warm month, too. It can also snow. I’ve lived here long enough, and have been writing about the weather long enough, to know it’s a bit of a roll of the dice. For the time being, let’s just forget it all and enjoy today. Let us bask in the sun’s warm, glowing warming glow.
Today:Sunny. Wind becoming south 20 km/h gusting to 40 near noon. High 24 C. UV index 7 or high.
