A look at today’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
Tuesday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station measured 14.7 C with 6 km/h winds out of the southwest.
A heat warning remains in place for the city of Edmonton, and much of the province, as we wrap up another stint of hot, hot weather. Forecasters are calling for a high of 33 C with the ol’ Humidex making it feel closer to 36 — hot enough for you? If you’re planning outdoor activities today be sure to break out the SPF 5000 and a giant, floppy hat. The larger and the floppier the better.
There’s a chance we could see some evening thunderstorms tonight starting around 6 p.m. but the ECCC Thunderstorm Outlook says they’re likely to be of the non-severe nature. If anything, it might help to cool things down a bit.
Protect yourself from the heat
– Consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day.
– Take frequent breaks from the heat, spending time in cooled indoor spaces where possible.
– Drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated.
– Check for your children or pets before you exit your vehicle. Do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle, for any length of time.
