Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, will provide an update on COVID-19 in the province Thursday afternoon.

As of Wednesday, there were 1,176 active cases across the province including 625 in the Edmonton Zone. The latest provincial data showed 127 new cases and no additional deaths.

Ninety-nine cases have been linked to a COVID-19 outbreak at Bible Pentecostal Church in Edmonton, seventy-nine of which are active. Hinshaw said last week the outbreak was tied to religious services between July 26 and Aug. 12.

The City of Edmonton continued to be listed on the province’s watchlist Wednesday with a case rate of 54.5 per 100,000, and 557 cases within municipal limits.

Hinshaw is scheduled to speak at 3:30 p.m. You can watch live below.
