COVID-19: 85 new cases, three deaths reported Tuesday

There are currently 18 active cases among residents at the facility and 17 among staff. A total of 35 residents and 15 employees have recovered from COVID-19. There has been a total of 113 cases at the facility.

Government numbers posted online Tuesday show there are 1,004 active cases of COVID-19 in Alberta. That number is down from 1,090 active cases on Monday.

The Edmonton Zone has the highest number of cases in the province with 401. The Calgary zone currently has 322 cases and southern Alberta has 57. Central and northern Alberta have 99 and 121 cases respectively. There are four active cases that have an unknown location.

There have been 11,772 confirmed cases in the province since the beginning of the pandemic and 10,552 people have recovered.

There are currently 64 people in Alberta hospitals with COVID-19, 14 of whom are in intensive care units.

Provincial labs have conducted 777,325 COVID-19 tests on 636,319 people, with 7,057 tests completed on Aug. 10.

There have been 120,132 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across Canada and 8,987 related deaths, according to the latest numbers from Health Canada. A total of 106,355 people in Canada have recovered from the virus. Globally, the World Health Organization reports there have been 19,936,210 confirmed cases and 732,499 deaths.
