Bill Gates says hydroxychloroquine has ‘severe side effects,’
but little evidence they’re common 50 replies

Bill Gates this week added more flame to the fire in the ongoing debate over the usage of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19, claiming that using the drug to treat the coronavirus carries with it the risk of “severe side effects” and arguing that medical officials should instead pursue the numerous “good therapeutic drugs” currently in development. Yet there is at present little evidence that “severe side effects” are common in COVID-19 patients who take hydroxychloroquine, with the majority of reported adverse events being relatively mild and only a small fraction of reported effects so far being dangerous and/or fatal.

MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski repeatedly ranted throughout Friday’s broadcast of the show over everything Donald Trump, suggesting that he was intentionally letting people die from COVID-19. Brzezinski, who appeared to be in a near state of rage throughout the show, repeatedly berated the president with names, and later, at the end of the show, said, “If you’re sensing a little intensity here, I’m a little amped up because this is an emergency.” The video clip below, compiled by Grabien News founder Tom Elliott, is a supercut video that shows the highlights from Brzezinski’s ravings. Biden shouldn’t rule out a
second term if he wins (opinion) 32 replies

It has become almost conventional wisdom that if Joseph Biden is elected President this November he will only serve one term and not seek reelection in 2024. Given Biden’s age, this makes intuitive sense. At 77, he is already the oldest person ever to be a major party candidate for President. Although his doctor says he’s in good health for a man his age, there is no guarantee that he will remain so for another four years, let alone eight. This reality framed Biden’s decision about choosing a running mate. Because of his age, Biden needed to choose somebody who

Some media organizations, partisan talking heads, and Democrats used the death of President Donald Trump’s brother, Robert Trump, to attack the president on Saturday night.“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight,” Trump said in a statement. “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.” Some media organizations used Robert Trump’s death to attack the president or the Trump family in general. The headline of The Washington Post’s obituary stated:

Gold’s Gym has become synonymous with the Hollywood Dream. Set just a few hundred yards from the ocean in sun-kissed Venice Beach, Los Angeles, Gold’s was the backdrop for Pumping Iron, the 1977 documentary which followed a young, unknown Austrian bodybuilder called Arnold Schwarzenegger as he prepared for the Mr Universe contest.(Snip) Yet today Gold’s sits amid post-apocalyptic scenes which have consumed much of LA, turning the City of Dreams into an urban nightmare from which people are fleeing in droves. A makeshift tent city made up of flapping tarpaulins and cardboard boxes surrounds the gym on all sides. Junkies and the homeless,

A Georgia state representative lost his committee chairmanship after he denigrated the late John Lewis on a radio show, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Tommy Benton, 70, incorrectly said that Lewis hadn’t done anything since he was beaten on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in 1965. “I have never read of a significant piece of legislation that was passed with his name on it,” Benton said, according to the AJC. “John Lewis, his only claim to fame was he got conked on the head at the Pettus Bridge. And he has milked that for 50 years.” Georgia’s house speaker, fellow Republican David

The FBI was told Carter Page was a U.S. intelligence agency source months before the agency began keeping that information from the secret court that authorized spying on him and nearly a full year before the agency altered documents to claim otherwise. Federal charging documents against Kevin Clinesmith, the top FBI attorney who was expected to plead guilty today to altering documents, show that the FBI withheld in three separate spying applications the fact that Page had served as an “operational contact” who helped an agency believed to be the CIA investigate suspected Russian intelligence figures for five years. For the fourth application, the agency didn’t just hide that fact,

Kamala Harris: America’s Least Sincere Person 27 replies

Kamala Harris is devoted to the political advancement of Kamala Harris. (Just ask Willie Brown.) Beyond that, she has no apparent principles, although she is happy to adopt extreme leftism as the guise of the moment. During the primary season, she attacked Joe Biden quite effectively, claiming to believe the women who accused him of sexual harassment, and so on. But, like the rest of Harris’s life, it was all a pose. That is how she explained it to Stephen Colbert, who naively assumed that Harris might have meant at least some of what she said about Biden:(Snip for tweet)It was a debate! She was just trying to become president!

A House Democrat on Friday proposed the creation of a Presidential Crimes Commission, a panel that would investigate allegations against President Trump and his administration after he leaves office. “I don’t say this lightly: when we escape this Trump hell, America needs a Presidential Crimes Commission. It should be made up of independent prosecutors who look at those who enabled a corrupt president. Example 1: Sabotaging the mail to win an election. #SaveThePostOffice,” U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., tweeted.(Snip)Democratic lawmakers have requested that $3.5 billion be granted to the Postal Service specifically to assist with the handling of mail-in ballots.

Seattle—When customers buy a beer from the small Seattle-based brewer, Mirage, they might see a message on the bottom of the can. In June, a beer called “Choosey Lover” had a stamp that read “ACAB means all cops.” ACAB stands for “all cops are bastards.” In a text message, Mirage owner and brewer Michael Dempster wrote, “I used the markings because I stand against institutional racism, of which modern policing is a militarized arm.”(Snip) Dempster wrote, “If it means someone won’t buy my beer anymore, good. Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) called President Donald Trump a “bully,” adding that was “about to get knocked out” in the November election by the Biden-Harris ticket. Anchor Jake Tapper asked, “So let me ask you, President Trump and his campaign have been floating this false, completely false notion that Senator Harris, who was born in Oakland, California, in 1964, and is an American, may not be eligible to be vice president. Were you surprised when they started to do that?” Booker said, “This is something I think that many Americans know. I know for my family is when you have African-American women who are rising
