Writing at the Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg has published a claim which he says is backed up by several people who were there as part of Trump’s 2018 trip to Paris, though none of them are named in his story. When President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that “the helicopter couldn’t fly” and that the Secret Service wouldn’t drive him there. Neither claim was true. Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe

Mayor Muriel Bowser of the District of Columbia created a D. C. Facilities and Commemorative Expressions (DCFACES) Working Group to review the hundreds of public buildings and spaces in the District, and make recommendations as to whether they should be renamed. The Working Group has now submitted its report; it is embedded below. The report’s first paragraph makes clear where the Working Group is coming from: When history revisits the summer of 2020, not only will it recall the impact of the COVID- 19 pandemic, but also the death of civil rights icon John Lewis, a historic vote for DC Statehood in the House of Representatives and

Nate Silver, the popular statistician and data geek who publishes his predictions for political outcomes throughout the country has released some new findings for the November Presidential Election and the news for Team Biden isn’t great. In fact, they are downright bad. In 2016, Clinton won the national popular vote by just over 2.8 million votes or 2.1%. Her enthusiasm rating was just 12 points behind Trump at this same time in the election (early September) in 2016. Polls found that of Trump’s base, 58% were enthusiastic about voting for the now-current-President versus just 46% of the same voters for the now-defeated Clinton. In other words

Joe Biden has been hiding in his basement for months. He managed to struggle through a speech at the Democratic convention with the help of a teleprompter. But since then, he wasn’t even able to get it together for a simple 12 minute speech in Pittsburgh, again with no audience and reading off a teleprompter, not even taking any questions. Today they made a big mistake and let him answer questions and it was a complete mess. First, he had his staff filter what questions to take. Could it be scripted questions and answers?

President Trump celebrated the 75th anniversary of America’s “ultimate victory” in World War II on Wednesday, telling an audience in the battleground state of North Carolina that the sacrifices of yesteryear are now being sullied by left-wing mob violence in the U.S. “American warriors did not defeat fascism and oppression overseas only to watch our freedoms be trampled by violent mobs here at home,” Mr. Trump told an audience in Wilmington that included several World War II veterans. “We must teach our children that America is the land of heroes like you.” The president designated Wilmington as the nation’s first World War II “heritage city.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she was “set up” during her recent salon trip, which has sparked a wave of backlash from Republicans. “I take responsibility for taking the word of a neighborhood salon that I’ve been to many times. They said they were able to accommodate one person at a time…I trusted that,” Mrs. Pelosi said. “It turns out, it was a set up. So I take responsibility for falling for a set up.” “I think this salon owes me an apology for setting [me] up,” she added. The California Democrat was grilled by reporters

Translation: The polling on riots must be getting brutal. Just days after criticizing Donald Trump for making a campaign stop in Kenosha after a controversial police shooting, Joe Biden’s campaign suddenly added a visit by their nominee. He’s going o “heal” the community, the campaign claims, but it certainly looks like Biden is playing follow the leader: Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, will visit Kenosha on Thursday as tensions simmer in the city following the shooting of a Black man by a white police officer and the deaths of two people protesting his shooting by an armed teenager. Biden’s visit to Wisconsin comes just two days

Sen. Ed Markey, who’s served the commonwealth on Capitol Hill for almost half a century, fended off the biggest primary fight of his congressional career on Tuesday, besting Rep. Joe Kennedy III after turning around a race that initially looked to swing in the young congressman’s favor. Just after 10 p.m., Kennedy staffers informed reporters that the congressman had called the senator and conceded. A spokesperson for Markey could not yet confirm the call, but the senator was set to address the media from the Malden Public Library at 11 p.m. As of 10:15 p.m., Markey garnered 54.8% of the vote compared to Kennedy’s 45.1%

This is not complicated. Last weekend, in the aftermath of the GOP Convention that ended with the spectacular events surrounding Pres. Trump’s acceptance speech, the Biden Campaign announced that he would be traveling on Monday to give a speech. There was a clear sentiment inside the campaign that Biden had to get out of his basement in Wilmington, Delaware, and give a campaign-style speech as a form of rebuttal to the speech given by Pres. Trump. After the events in Kenosha last week, there was only one possible topic – especially in light of the rampant media speculation

One of the most famous clues in a Sherlock Holmes mystery is what’s commonly referred to as “the dog that didn’t bark” or, as Holmes actually said, “The dog did nothing in the night-time.” Rasmussen Reports, which puts out a Daily Presidential Tracking Poll like clockwork, noticed that its competitors ceased barking (or, if you prefer, polling) after the two parties held their conventions. According to Rasmussen, which would know, this silence was unprecedented. Rasmussen published a series of tweets on Monday openly snarking at its competitors for their silence. Moreover, whoever is writing Rasmussen’s tweets was not shy about identifying a reason for the other polling outfits’ unusual reticence:

Joe Biden gave a speech in Pittsburgh on Monday. As we reported earlier, he tried to blame President Donald Trump for the riots violence despite the fact that it’s leftists behind the violence in Democratically-run cities who Trump has done everything to try to help. But there were some things beyond that that just screamed out for comment. So this apparently was Joe Biden’s audience, just media. There was no audience. Who exactly was he giving the speech to? That was bad enough. But the delivery of the speech showed the deep problems that the Democrats have with Biden.
